CROSSFiT

Since i started attending Westlake Crossfit and mastered my kipping pull-ups in no time, with the third place record at Westlake Crossfit (14) I have wanted to become the first girl at the gym to attempt a muscle up. Apparently Lindsey, another girl who attends the gym has gotten her first one already,(congratulations)!! So my first goal before the end of the year, is to work on my strict pull ups and ring dips in order to get my first muscle up, even if i may not be the first :)

So far my Max's consist of the following
            A- Front squat 115#
            B- Back squat  135#
            C- Deadlift 175#
            D- Press 65#
            E- Hang Power Clean 95#
            F- Bench Press 85#
            G- Split Jerk 95#

I hope throughout this blog you guys can read about some PR's (Personal Records) that have been set. Wednesday, i actually PR'ed in the Deadlift and Press by TEN POUNDS!! The one thing i LOVE about crossfit is that we are required to log every work out and lift in order to see our own improvements. This is one of the best feelings that goes along with crossfit- being able to not only see your improvements on paper, but to feel how much stronger and fitter you have actually become!

I remember one of my first crossfit workouts when i began training with my boyfriend in the beginning weeks of June. It consisted of, what i now think of "light weight" deadlifts, at probably 65lbs along with 15 or 20lb kettle bell swings. THIS KILLED ME!! My back was in so much pain and my legs were shaking so bad that before the end of the workout we had to switch to a 10lb dumbbell and switched the dead lifts to med-ball slams! Wow, look how far i have already come. I use a 35lb kettle bell during work outs and can complete a hard corssfit workout with 115lb deadlifts. You can also see improvements by the decrease in your times during the crossfit workouts. For those of you who are still getting to know what crossfit is all about, this blog will help because i will be listeing ALL of the workouts ive done throughout the weeks, as well as my time and weights used!! Just remember, the most amount of work in the least amound of time :)

Goals, goals, goals ... ohh goodness! (1) Muscle up (2) jump up to the number one spot on the pull up board with 20 kipping pull ups!! Besides maintaing a (3) strict paleo diet being my priority goal, of course i want to increase my max weights as well as decrease my times in the work outs :) Basically that is all i have for now. Too many goals can actually leave you unfoccused with to many things to focus and work on!

Thats all for today-Everyone have a happy and safe halloween (even though nobody is reading these yet, hah)
