GETTING STARTED!! WHY BLOG??

Like most bloggers, i am not traveling the world to write about my life-changing experiences. I am just an average college girl, with a busy life schedule, trying to maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. My life is actually extremely bland- but after getting an idea from a fellow crossfitter, i am going to write about my hectic life while trying to maintain a strict healthy diet. Hopefully i can inspire others to do the same, like my friend has inspired me, but most importantly i just need accountability.


As most of my close friends and family know- I am a student at Texas State Univeristy who also works full-time (32-40hrs a week) at the Hampton Inn and Suites in San Marcos. I am also involved in a crossfit gym, so i spend a lot of time driving to Austin to attend crossfit classes at Westlake Crossfit - as well as spend time with a special someone.This special someone is the guy who actually got me addicted to crossfit and has helped me attempt to maintain a healthy eating habbit. Thats right friends, i am not that fast-food, chocolate craving junkie from the past.

Most of my blogs will discuss crossfit related goals and what i have eaten for the day. My main goal starting Monday, November 1st is to maintain a STRICT paleo diet- for most crossfitters, we understand the term "paleo diet" like the back of our hands, but for others this term may be completely new. The paleo diet consists of eating like our paleolithic ancestors from hundreds of years ago, thats right- no bread, sugar, beans, rice, etc! Basically, the main gist of this diet is everything we eat must be natural and non-processed, and as for the meat- grass fed only! I am not much of a cook, and to be honest it was only about six months ago when i started cooking real meals which consisted of mainly baked chicken and Tilapia. Lets just say this challenge will be difficult- with barely no free time or cooking skills, i will definitly be stepping a bit out of my comfort zone!

I have been on the paleo diet for about four/five months- the first month consisting of the strict paleo while the following months were more lax. I definitly saw a DRAMATIC difference in my crossfit workouts with fast muscle gain and increased strength, and it is time to get serious again! Help me by keeping me accountable ... thanks guys!
